Dr Dave Tapolczay, Chairman
CEO of Medical Research Council Technology, previously CSO at Sigma Aldrich and VP Technology Development at GSK. Dr Tapolczay has over 20 years experience of Pharmaceutical and Agrochemical R&D management and licensing. Past roles include Chairman of Pharmorphix, CEO of Stylacats, Vice President Pharmaceutical Sciences at Millennium, Vice President R&D Cambridge Discovery Chemistry, and worldwide head of chemistry for Zeneca agrochemicals and senior manager of chemical development for Glaxo. Dr Tapolczay brings a wealth of experience in creating value in early-stage companies and is a cofounder of Nuformix.
Gergely Darvas, Executive Director
Mr Darvas is a founder of ThalesNano, serving as COO from 2004 until 2009. Mr Darvas was Director of Marketing at CompuDrug International, prior to becoming Director of Marketing and a Board Member at ComGenex Inc. between 2000 and 2006. He led the Hungarian American Chamber of Commerce in Budapest for two years until 2000. He is a founder and Vice President of the Hungarian Spin-Off Association, holder of the R&D 100’s Award and the Hungarian Venture Capital Association’s SME of the Year Award.
Dr Chris Dowle, Executive Director
Dr Dowle gained his PhD at the University of Strathclyde. He joined ICI in 1988, managing GLP laboratories before moving into business development. Dr Dowle has worked for process technology companies from sales through to business management across pharmaceuticals, chemicals, materials, and biotechnology. Dr Dowle is Director of Sustainable Processing at CPI.
